Visiting the School

The best way to get a feel for The John Lyon School is to come for a visit where you can look around the facilities and meet some of the students, as well as meet the Registrar who can take you through the application process and answer any questions you may have.

Throughout the year, we host School in Action afternoons, an Open Evening, an Open Day and a Sixth Form Open Evening.

School in Action

A typical  School in Action afternoon consists of an introduction from the Head or a Senior Teacher and a tour of the School given by one of our students, a great opportunity to explore the School with a student’s perspective.

Dates for the School in Action in the Spring Term are Tuesday 21st February, Wednesday 22nd February, Thursday 2nd March and Friday 3rd March; 2:00pm-3:30pm. All our School in Action dates are now full. Our next Open Event will be our Open Evening in May.

Open Evening

The Open Evening includes an address by the Head with a tour of the school led by current pupils. In addition to departmental exhibitions there will be opportunities to talk to members of the teaching staff and pupils. We welcome students for Year 7, 9 and Sixth Form entry to our Open Evening.

The Open Evening is on Tuesday 9th May from 5pm to 7pm.
