Sports

There is undoubtedly a connection between health and fitness and a child’s academic attainment.

Within the Prep School, there are a wide range of sporting activities which make up the PE and Games programme. Even at a young age, the positive qualities learned through sport can enhance a child’s physical, social and emotional wellbeing.

Introducing a range of sports at a young age encourages children to adopt healthy habits alongside the development of key motor skills, laying the foundation for a healthy, active lifestyle.

All pupils in the Prep School will take part in a carousel of activities ranging from Swimming, Athletics, Fitness and FUNdamentals. More specialist sports are added throughout the year and there are opportunities to compete against local schools in Football, Hockey, Netball, Cricket, Swimming and Athletics.

On site we have our own swimming pool and Multi Use Games areas but most activities take place at the Senior School and Sudbury Playing Fields. Here we utilise a 25m indoor pool, sports hall and fitness suites alongside football and cricket pitches and a full size Hockey astro which includes twelve tennis courts.

Sports teach important life lessons such as perseverance, patience and dealing with both success and failure. All pupils have access to the full range of sports and are available for selection, regardless of gender.
